After the win against Real Sociedad, Real Madrid are on the top of the table with 65 points having a head to head advantage over Barcelona. Things didn’t really go well for the Blaugrana this season having many defensive problems, conceding many goals and there were also many injuries, currently Ousmane Dembele, Sergi Roberto and Frankie De Jong are out due to injury problems. The next challenge for the Blaugrana is Athletic Club Bilbao at the Camp nou. Athletic have defeated Barca twice this season and knocking them out of the Copa del Rey earlier this season. There’s immense pressure on the squad and also on the manager Quique Setein as making more mistakes would cost them the title. If Barcelona wants to keep it’s title hope alive they have to beat athletic at any cost. The problem I have noticed this season is there very less crosses/passes being delivered in the final third, and Barcelona is maintaining a slow pace of the game which is helping the opponent to recover and defend, they’re not able to choke the opposition. Barcelona is making just 800 – 1000 passes per game but are failing to score, compared to last season they were more clinical last season, they were defensively strong throughout the season last year but this year it’s not the same. They can still change the things around, play good football now onwards . Athletic game is a must win game for Barcelona, It’s a title deciding game for FC Barcelona. The Los Blancos managed to get three points at the Reale Arena beating Real Socied 2-1 with Ramos scoring from spot in the first five minutes of the 2nd half and Karim Benzema doubling the lead at the 69th minute. Adnan Januzaj almost found the equaliser just seconds before Benzema could Score but was disallowed as Merino was deemed to be obstructing Thibaut Courtois. As the game went on Merino came up with goal in the 84 th minute but was not enough for the host to secure a point. Madrid have come to the top of the table after match day 30 with 65 points holding a head to head advance over Barcelona. It’s seems like things are going really well for Real Madrid as they are scoring goals and defending pretty well and there’s also creativity coming up from the midfield if Madrid continue like this they would be winning their 34 th league title but the question is will the players and maintain the momentum till the end of the season? As games are going thick and fast it’s really hard for the players to maintain their fitness . Sergio Ramos had a clash with Isaac in today’s game and was substituted in the second half and is suspected to miss the next game against Mallorca. Update on his injury will be out soon

As yesterday the Spanish champions Fc Barcelona have dropped points playing against Sevilla away from home they have given their arch rivals Real Madrid a chance to come to the top of the table. Barcelona only managed to get a point from the match. The players were not up to the mark, the side is totally dependent on their talisman Lionel Messi who is currently the leading goal scorer in Spain with 20 goals, people were expecting Messi to score his 700 th goal of the career yesterday. Barcelona is not up to the mark, there are many reasons for their poor performance. It can be the latest schedule of matches that the games are being played at an interval 1-2 days and players are lacking rest and also Barca doesn’t have a decent dept in the squad and also has injury concerns. Real Madrid play Real Sociedad away from home which is tough clash for the Los Blancos, if they manage to get 3 points they go on to the top of the table. This season is going to be a thriller as none of the teams can afford a mistake from now. Both of the teams would end up on 65 points after the matchday 30 with Real Madrid having the slightest advantage to be on top.
